Art, Music, Food from Zimbabwe and African Games

Calling all artists in Grades pre-school to Grade 8.  Enter our African Art Contest!   Free entry!

Instructions:

  • Bring your art to St. Joseph School, 1120 Miramonte Ave., Mountain View on: Saturday, April 6: noon to 2:00 pm or on the day of the Zim Run 10:00 am to noon (before the event).
  • Label your art on the back with name, grade, school and phone number.
  • Pick up your art 4:00 to 4:30 pm on April 7.
  • The art must pertain to Africa and may be any media—watercolor, oil, mask, sculpture, etc.
  • Prizes: Finisher ribbons to all artists. *Top artist in each grade (preschool to high school) will receive a toy plush warthog.

March 9-10, 2019, T-shirts will be available for purchase at St. William Catholic Church, Los Altos after all the masses.

March 23-24, 2019, Zim Run T-shirts will be on sale at St. Joseph’s Church on Hope Street, Mountain View after all the masses.

 

And of course, you can also buy your T-shirts on Race Day!

The shirt this year is Mr. Warthog, designed by Will Clark. Youth to Adult sizes are available.

This sign is going to make the rounds with Ellen, visiting schools and events and building excitement for children and adults to come to the Zim Run and Fair.

As students begin to see the colors of Zimbabwe and listen to the stories and learn about Africa, they will become fully ready to participate on Race Day.

We are excited to watch them learn, create art and get fit!

Pre-schoolers to Senior citizens

Wilbur the Wildebeest was made by Jimmy Gibbs.  It will be a ring toss game at the Zim Fair. See if you can toss the ring onto the horns!

Come to the Zim Run & Fair and join the runners and those who cheer them on. Listen to music from Zimbabwe, sample some delicious Zim foods, create art and play some African games. Learn all about the Zim Fair.
